"It's Labor Day!"
This seems to be my excuse this weekend to break every rule and go against the principles and habits I have set for myself.
- Skipping work. Since half of the people in my office were gone, I emailed my boss asking if I can take off early on Friday as well to enjoy the long weekend. Then I was gone. The best part was I did not use any of my vacation days. :)
- Buying random crap. Yes, I haven't bought any articles of clothing for 3 months, UNTIL this weekend. Can't believe I spent $68 on a simple sweater that just prints "US OPEN 04".
- Sleeping at 5am. Last time I slept at 5am was...junior year? Last time I slept at 5am because of non-academic reasons was...beginning of sophmore year?
- Drinking. I did not get drunk. I wasn't even that buzzed. Actually, maybe I was but I just don't remember. Hey, gotta make the best use of the $300 bottle of Absolute.
- Taking showers in the morning. So I like to take shower before I go to bed. I like to be clean when I sleep. But not this weekend -- after being out for more than 20 hours everyday this weekend, I was too tired to realize my filthiness and just passed out on the floor.
A lot of first-times this weekend too.
- Eating lunch with my girlfriend's parents AND my girlfriend's best friend's parents. It was good food and good company!
- Actually having a place to stay in Manhattan.
- Sleeping in a sleeping bag.
- US Open. Though we missed Sharapova, but we witnessed the 150mph serve from Roddick.
- VIP treatment in a lounge/club.
Happy belated Labor Day!
